Book C — Daily User Guide · Part 3 Property & Environmental · draft v1 (2026-08-29)
Who: rehab specialists / inspectors When: the initial inspection before the scope of work; progress and final inspections during construction; yearly monitoring after completion. Where: CONSTRUCTION MGMT ▸ Inspection/Bids (initial), ▸ Project Management (final); the dashboard's inspection list; Yearly Monitoring (▸ C-17).
What you'll end up with¶
Every inspection scheduled on the inspector's Microsoft 365 calendar straight from the project, logged in the project, printable as the Inspection Form, and visible on the dashboard's due list.
Part A — Schedule the initial inspection¶
- On Inspection/Bids enter Date Inspection Request, Inspector Name, Initial Inspection Date and Initial Inspection Time (▸ C-12 Part A).
- Click the calendar icon beside the time. HousingOS creates the event on the inspector's calendar — subject Initial Property Inspection – ‹owners›, location = the property address, invitee = the inspector's email from their staff record — stores the event ID on the project, and logs "Initial Property Inspection scheduled …".
- Rescheduling: change the date or time and click the icon again — the same event is updated, not duplicated. Cancelling: clear the date and click the icon to remove the event [confirm — delete path].
- If a field is empty you'll see "Complete Initial Inspection Data" and the missing box turns green.

Part B — The inspection form¶
- Print the Inspection Form report (from Printing Options ▸ Printing Options filter, or the Bid Reports set) to take on site; it carries the property facts, applicant and the environmental flags (pre-1978, mobile home).
Part C — Progress and final inspections¶
- Progress inspections during construction are recorded with the payment requests (▸ C-14). The Project Final Inspection Date is entered on Project Management (▸ C-13 Part E) and drives Inspection Stalled / Construction Behind on the dashboard.
Part D — Where inspections show up¶
- The dashboard's inspection list [confirm caption — lstPropertyInspection] shows inspections scheduled in the coming period; click a row to open the project. Yearly post-completion inspections/monitoring are on the Yearly Monitoring card (▸ C-17).
Watch-outs¶
- The calendar needs a signed-in Microsoft account for the inspector (▸ B-3 / B-10); if the event isn't created you'll get a Graph error message — sign in from the Navigation form and retry.
- Times are local to the workstation's Windows time zone; check the zone if inspectors are remote.
- Editing the event in Outlook does not update HousingOS — change dates in HousingOS and re-click the icon.
